PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Hara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlo Gambino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hara comes to the cage accompanied by Armin van Buuren - Sail. Carlo Gambino told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Hara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlo Gambino!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gambino tries to clinch there but Hara circles away.
Hara shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gambino counters with a right hand to the body.
Gambino misses with the combination.
Hara fails with the takedown
and Gambino counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hara shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gambino counters with a three punch combo that has Hara backing up. Hara nods at Gambino to acknowledge the strikes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Hara. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hara avoids the head kick by Gambino.
Gambino throws a sloppy head kick and Hara moves out of range easily.

Gambino clinches.
Gambino prevents the takedown attempt.
Gambino tries to break free but Hara pushes him back against the cage.
Gambino is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Hara is keeping busy.
Gambino can't break the clinch.
Gambino stops a takedown attempt from Hara.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gambino wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hara has him pressed against the cage.
Gambino working hard to break the clinch.
Gambino wants to get back to striking at distance but Hara won't allow it.
Gambino wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Hara as Gambino tries to tie him up.
Gambino wants to get back to striking at distance but Hara won't allow it.
Gambino prevents a takedown attempt there.
Gambino slowing the pace effectively.
Hara has Gambino pressed against the cage, preventing Gambino from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
A frustrated look appears on Gambino's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Hara drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hara goes for a takedown attempt but Gambino pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Gambino darts in trying to clinch

and Hara counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hara trying to control the position from guard on top but Gambino is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hara drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gambino dives on top into guard.
Gambino prevents Hara from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Hara uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Hara is breathing heavily.
Gambino smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Gambino lands a glancing blow to the side of Hara's head.


It looks like Josh Hara has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gambino lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Gambino lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


Hara is rocked!
Hara is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Gambino just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! And now a right hook, right on the button! Hara has gone limp, and this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Carlo Gambino!
