The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karlov misses with a left hand
and Wilson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Karlov looks to land a right hand but Wilson moved out of range.
Yuri Karlov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Karlov misses the shot to the body.
Karlov takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Wilson defending well as Karlov loads up on a big left hand.
Wilson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Karlov has time to react.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Wilson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Wilson wants to control from the top but Karlov keeps moving.
Wilson stands and throws Karlov's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Wilson works to advance to full mount. Karlov defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Karlov is squirming around, avoiding Wilson's attempts to control the action.

Wilson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Karlov is surviving well by controlling Wilson's body position as best he can.
Poor strikes thrown by Wilson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
