Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Nara Shikamaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Coop Diddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nara Shikamaru has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diddy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Shikamaru wants to control but Diddy is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Diddy is looking to take a break and control but Shikamaru is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Diddy throwing shots but Shikamaru is blocking nicely.
Shikamaru regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Diddy.
Shikamaru manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Diddy manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Diddy wants to get back to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diddy is looking for a sweep. Shikamaru is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Diddy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Shikamaru is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Shikamaru seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Diddy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Diddy takes the fight into the clinch.
Shikamaru is working for takedown but Diddy is calmly controlling the position for now.

Diddy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Diddy shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Diddy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shikamaru keeps working.

Diddy is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Diddy wants to take a breather but Shikamaru is having none of it.
Diddy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shikamaru. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Shikamaru manages to get to full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Shikamaru keeping moving, preventing Diddy from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Shikamaru is on top in guard.

Shikamaru passes Diddy's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Shikamaru is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Diddy!

Shikamaru closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Nara Shikamaru overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Diddy wants to control from the top but Shikamaru keeps moving.

Diddy is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Shikamaru is aware though and is defending well.

Diddy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Shikamaru maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Diddy could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Shikamaru has cracked it and Diddy is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Shikamaru!
