PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Howard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Clark might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Uprising. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Glass and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howard slips a jab and a cross from Clark.
Clark throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Howard stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Howard tries to clinch but Clark moves out of range.
Howard has a takedown stuffed.
Howard tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Clark swivels and escapes.
Clark lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

and Howard counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Clark!
Howard wants to control the pace but Clark is squirming around nicely.
Howard takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Howard rushes Clark and presses him up against the cage.
Howard fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Howard tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Clark just stands there and leans against the cage.
Howard wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Clark has him pressed against the cage.

Howard is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Howard has Clark pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Clark manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
