PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brian Nadeau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Le Tank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Le Tank is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Trooper. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brian Nadeau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hank Le Tank!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Le Tank shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Nadeau defends it nicely.
Nadeau scores with a jab to the jaw.
Nadeau with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Le Tank to score with a decent uppercut.
Le Tank displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nadeau throws out the jab.

Le Tank shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Le Tank showed some decent athleticism there.

Nadeau fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Le Tank sprawls well initially but Nadeau persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Nadeau wants to pass to mount but Le Tank is defending the position.

Nadeau stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Le Tank swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Le Tank's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Le Tank stands and throws Nadeau's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Nadeau tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Le Tank wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Le Tank creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Nadeau is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Nadeau is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Nadeau slips a jab and a cross from Le Tank.
Le Tank throws a right and a left that Nadeau avoids nicely.
Nadeau throws a body punch but Le Tank moves out of range.
Nadeau paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Nadeau throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Nadeau misses with a body shot.
Le Tank fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Le Tank tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Nadeau counters with a low kick, right behind Le Tank 's knee.
Le Tank throws a combination. Nadeau tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Le Tank moves into range and connects with a jab.
Nadeau takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Le Tank tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nadeau sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Le Tank somewhat.
Brian Nadeau has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hank Le Tank.

Nadeau lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Le Tank circles away quickly and effectively.
Le Tank shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Le Tank dives in and grabs Nadeau's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nadeau pushes down on Le Tank's head and hops out.

Nadeau looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Nadeau will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Nadeau takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Le Tank throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nadeau tries to close the distance and clinch but Le Tank swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nadeau avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nadeau rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Le Tank moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Le Tank shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Le Tank was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Le Tank looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nadeau with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
