Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Knarles Grunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sandy Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grunt's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, BLUNT- The Iron Maiden. Hawkins is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Enter Sandman. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Knarles Grunt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sandy Hawkins!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grunt fails with the takedown
and Hawkins counters with a low kick, right behind Grunt 's knee.
Hawkins with a poor takedown

and Grunt counters with a takedown into side control.
The ground and pound from Grunt seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Grunt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Grunt wants to control but Hawkins is keeping him busy.
Hawkins prevents Grunt from moving into mount.
Grunt throws an elbow but Hawkins slips to the side and avoids it well.
Grunt content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Hawkins is looking to reverse the position.

Grunt wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hawkins, who protects the arm well.

Grunt loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hawkins wants to sweep here but Grunt controlling him for the moment.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Grunt is looking to advance position but Hawkins has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Hawkins looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Grunt is desperately trying to improve his position but Hawkins has a good base and remains in mount.

Hawkins fails to take his opponent's back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hawkins avoids the attempt from Grunt to control.
Hawkins wants to control the pace but Grunt is squirming around nicely.

Hawkins moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Grunt has worked his arm free - good work by Grunt!

Hawkins working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Grunt tries to bench press Hawkins off him but Hawkins keeps the position.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Knarles Grunt will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Hawkins misses with an uppercut. Grunt saw that one coming.

Hawkins connects with a single shot there.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

and Grunt counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hawkins thinking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grunt fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hawkins is looking to land body kicks.
Sandy Hawkins is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

A jab from Hawkins misses.
Hawkins moves forwards but Grunt connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Hawkins walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Grunt checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

No luck for Grunt with that takedown attempt.

and Hawkins counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Hawkins passes Grunt's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Grunt wants to improve his position but Hawkins is controlling well.

Hawkins wants to work for an arm triangle but Grunt is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Grunt regains full guard. Nicely done.

Grunt escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hawkins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Grunt looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hawkins is one step ahead there.
Grunt is trying to keep Hawkins in close.
Grunt looking to control but Hawkins passes into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Sandy Hawkins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Hawkins lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Grunt!

Hawkins is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Grunt is defending well though. Hawkins let's go of the attempt for now.

Hawkins is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Grunt with him. Grunt is trying to defend but Hawkins has an arm under the chin now! Grunt grimaces and is forced to tap out!
