Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fred Smoot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Lundblad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smoot comes to the cage accompanied by new York. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fred Smoot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Martin Lundblad!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lundblad throws a leg kick
enabling Smoot to counter with a crisp jab.
Smoot gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Lundblad counters with a nice low kick that buckles Smoot's knee momentarily.

Smoot looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Lundblad thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Lundblad trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Smoot passes into half guard.
Smoot uses his free foot to push down on Lundblad's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lundblad.

Smoot has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lundblad's face.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Smoot postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lundblad looks a forlorn figure.

Smoot is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Lundblad can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Lundblad is in all sorts of trouble here.

Smoot with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Lundblad is desperately trying to improve his position but Smoot has a good base and remains in mount.
Smoot with the ground and pound from mount.
Lundblad really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smoot. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Smoot scoring with strikes but Lundblad is staying in there.
Smoot has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Smoot looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Smoot is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Smoot extends the arm and Lundblad is forced to tap!
