Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mick Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Opa Jokinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jokinen has chosen Prodigy - Baby's Got A Temper as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Mick Penn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Opa Jokinen!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn throws a low kick but Jokinen moves out of range easily.
Penn closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jokinen circles away.
Penn is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jokinen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Penn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Jokinen throws a shot from downtown. Penn moves away and avoids it.

Penn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jokinen sprawls well. Jokinen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Penn gets slowly back to his feet.

Jokinen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Penn.

Penn fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jokinen sprawls well initially but Penn persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

A close round but Opa Jokinen will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Penn shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jokinen napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Penn is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jokinen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Penn wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jokinen, who protects the arm well.
Penn tries to score with some ground and pound. Jokinen controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Penn throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Penn swings around for an armbar but Jokinen sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Penn's guard.
Jokinen would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Penn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Penn accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Penn drops back looking for a leg! Jokinen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jokinen manages to kick Penn off! Penn jumps back into Jokinen's guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Penn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jokinen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mick Penn dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Penn bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Penn throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Penn looking to ground and pound but Jokinen is blocking nicely.

Jokinen is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Penn throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Jokinen holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Penn tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Penn with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Penn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
