Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kasahiro Yama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cu Chulainn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yama kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Yatta. Chulainn has chosen The Blood of Cu Chulainn as his entrance music. Cu Chulainn will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cu Chulainn!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Franklyn Lucas and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yama ducks under a wild hook from Chulainn.
Chulainn misses with an uppercut

and Yama counters with a shoot takedown. Chulainn fights it but they end up in guard.
Chulainn working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Yama.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Chulainn holds on and takes a little breather.
Chulainn keeping moving, preventing Yama from controlling successfully.
Yama might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Chulainn wants to stand but Yama is controlling the position.

Chulainn might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Chulainn stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

and Chulainn counters with a crisp right hand that drops Yama! Chulainn lets Yama back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Chulainn ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Yama moves away.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

enabling Chulainn to counter with a crisp jab.

Yama looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Chulainn!

Yama goes for an armbar but Chulainn turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Chulainn.

Yama looking for a sweep. Not yet Yama, not yet.
Yama bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Chulainn's guard.
Yama trying to control but Chulainn is working from the bottom.
Yama throws and elbow that misses. Chulainn uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Yama's guard. Nice move by Chulainn!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Yama wants to sweep here but Chulainn controlling him for the moment.
Yama is working hard here to advance position.
Yama trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Yama is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Chulainn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Chulainn missing with a left hand there. Yama was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Yama fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Yama shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Chulainn counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
Cu Chulainn comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Chulainn has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
