PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Berry Fulcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cain Silva told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with a combination
and Fulcher cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Horrible takedown by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Fulcher which made him look bad.

Silva feints and as Fulcher raises his hands in defense, Silva changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Silva thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Fulcher looking for a sweep. Not yet Fulcher, not yet.
Silva wants to pass the guard but Fulcher is keeping the position.
Fulcher keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully.
Silva looks gassed!
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Fulcher holds on and takes a little breather.

Silva passes Fulcher's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Silva is keen to just control but Fulcher is a slippery customer.

Silva is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Fulcher doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Silva.
Silva wants to stand but Fulcher has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Silva is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fulcher keeps working.
Fulcher is looking for a sweep. Silva is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Silva is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Fulcher has managed to free his arm - good work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Fulcher wants to control but Silva is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Silva is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fulcher is just riding it out for now. Silva eventually gives up the hold.
Fulcher tries to roll over but Silva keeps him under control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fulcher is controlling Silva's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Fulcher misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Fulcher does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Cain Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fulcher lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Fulcher feints a jab promting Silva to slip. Fulcher then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Silva slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
