Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lath Hoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arnaud Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoy comes to the cage accompanied by Go Ninja-Vanilla Ice. Savage is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by BLUNT- . Lath Hoy could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Arnaud Savage's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lath Hoy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Arnaud Savage!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoy scores with a decent looking hook.
Hoy cracks Savage with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Savage scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Hoy tries to buck Savage off but Savage is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Savage tries for a kimura but Hoy is defending well.
Hoy is trying to get back to half guard.
Hoy gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Savage landing punches.
Hoy keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Savage is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hoy is surviving well by controlling Savage's body position as best he can.

Savage wants to finish this one by submission but Hoy is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Savage.

Hoy has given up his back.
Hoy turns into Savage and is now in his guard.
Savage keeping moving, preventing Hoy from controlling successfully.

Hoy is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Savage is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Savage has escaped and now he's on top!
Hoy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Savage is one step ahead there.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hoy looking for a guillotine here but Savage defends easily.

Savage trying to control but Hoy is working from the bottom.
Savage advances position into side control!
Hoy tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Hoy trying his best to control but Savage has mounted him.
Hoy is desperately trying to improve his position but Savage has a good base and remains in mount.
Savage takes Hoy's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Hoy is in trouble.

Savage is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Hoy defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Savage lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Hoy breaks Savage's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Savage trying to keep a closed guard but Hoy is proving a slippery customer.

Hoy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Savage manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hoy has Savage in his guard.
Hoy lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Savage!
Hoy tries to control but Savage wriggling away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hoy goes for an armbar but Savage turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Savage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hoy throws a looping overhand right but Savage ducks down to avoid it.
Savage wants to land a leg kick but Hoy is out of range.
Hoy misses the body punch

and Savage counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hoy's guard now.

Hoy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Savage doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Savage manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Savage stands and throws Hoy's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Hoy sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Savage is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Savage is taking a breather. Hoy says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Savage is working for a submission of some sort.
Savage trying to control from half guard but Hoy is working away.
Savage is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hoy!

Savage jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Hoy is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Hoy and Savage has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Savage wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hoy, who protects the arm well.
Hoy is not content to let Savage control the position.

The fighters are battling for position here. Savage manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Hoy is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hoy trying to control the position from guard on top but Savage is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Hoy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Savage is keeping the position for now.
Hoy trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Savage manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Hoy working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Savage has passed into half guard!

Savage is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hoy sees it coming and defends easily.
Savage frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Arnaud Savage showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Savage slips a straight right by Hoy.
Hoy throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hoy takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Savage's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hoy connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Savage scrambles back to his feet.
Savage pivots, looking for a leg kick but Hoy is out of range and Savage settles back down.
Nice defenses there by Savage.
Savage throws a head kick that half lands.
Hoy throws a hook but Savage blocks it.
Savage throws the kick towards the body but Hoy avoids it.
Savage tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hoy lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hoy throws a shot to the body.
Hoy looks to land a right hand but Savage moved out of range.
Hoy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Savage manages to avoid it.
Hoy looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hoy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Savage can pounce on him.
Savage walks into a straight right hand from Hoy.

Hoy checks the leg kick nicely there.
Hoy catches Savage with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Savage steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hoy.
Hoy looks to land a combination but Savage avoids it well.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Savage.
Savage shoots in looking for a takedown. Hoy tries to sprawl out of it but Savage keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hoy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Savage uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hoy.

Savage manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hoy on his heels. He'll look to pass Hoy's guard now, I'm sure.

Hoy has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Savage is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hoy.
Hoy is trying to control Savage's posture but Savage avoids it.

Savage tries to advance to mount but can't.

Savage tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Savage has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Savage has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Hoy!
Hoy is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The referee warns Hoy that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Hoy tries to hold on but Savage pushes him away.
Savage is landing with some decent strikes but Hoy is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Savage landing punches.
Savage pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
