PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Shore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zacharia Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shore comes to the cage accompanied by Dr. Feelgood. Steele is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Rock You Like A Hurricane. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeremy Shore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zacharia Steele!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steele tries for a takedown but Shore sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Steele shoots in and drives through. Shore sprawls well.

Shore feints and as Steele raises his hands in defense, Shore changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Steele is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Shore wants to stand but Steele is controlling his posture from full guard.

Shore stands up and waves to Steele to follow him.
Shore tries to clinch but Steele is having none of it.
Steele misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Steele throws a right hand that Shore ducks under and follows up with a left that Shore also avoids with ease.

and Shore counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Shore pulls out of a head kick attempt.

and Shore counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Steele taking some punishment here, with Shore in his half guard.
Steele makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Steele.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shore lands a couple of digs.
Steele is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Shore trying to control but Steele is working from the bottom.
Shore is looking to stand up but Steele won't let him.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Steele is on top in guard.
Shore is looking to stand up but Steele isn't so interested in that idea.
Shore is breathing heavily.
Steele is looking to work some ground and pound but Shore has wrist control.
Shore knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Steele on the ground.
Steele throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Steele trying to control the position from guard on top but Shore is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Steele drops back looking for a leg! Shore is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Shore manages to kick Steele off! Steele jumps back into Shore's guard.
Steele pushes down on Shore's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Shore makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Steele tries to clinch up

and Shore counters by moving into the clinch.
Nice elbow from Steele.
Shore takes a knee right on the jaw!
Shore wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Steele connects with a knee to the head.
Shore prevents a takedown attempt there.
Jeremy Shore has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zacharia Steele.
Shore tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Shore wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Steele tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Steele has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Shore avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Steele manages to pull guard.

Steele had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Shore is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Steele Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Shore's back instead.

Steele has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Shore has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
This has been an exciting period of action!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Shore tries to roll but Steele sticks to his back.

Shore is trying to defend against the choke here but Steele has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Steele Tightens the hold and Shore taps out furiously! Steele displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Zacharia Steele!
