Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lloyd Zak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zak has chosen strenght to go on - rise against as his entrance music. The key to victory for Michael Scott has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lloyd Zak!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott throws a right and a left that both miss.
Scott throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Zak.
Zak misses with a hook
and Scott counters with a good low kick that Zak was not able to check.
Scott swinging wildly here.
Zak avoids a punch combination nicely.
Scott takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Scott works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Zak looks to score with a jab to the body but Scott is just out of range.
Zak throws a head kick that misses.
Scott scores with a one two! Zak had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Zak wants to clinch
and Scott counters with a series of strikes. Zak will be more careful next time no doubt.
Lloyd Zak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Scott changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zak tries to avoid it but Scott manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zak to the ground. Zak escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Scott uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Zak.

Lloyd Zak seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Scott fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Zak to the ground. Scott is now in Zak's guard.

Scott drops back looking for a leg! Zak is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Zak manages to kick Scott off! Scott jumps back into Zak's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Scott is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Zak has escaped the position, nice work there.
Scott advances to mount.
Zak is bucking up trying to escape but Scott cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Scott is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Zak has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Scott is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Scott rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Zak moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Scott looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Zak closes the distance looking to clinch
and Scott counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

and Scott counters with a shoot takedown. Zak fights it but they end up in guard.
Scott has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Scott is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Zak defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scott moves into full mount! Zak won't be happy about that!

Zak takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Scott wants to finish this one by submission but Zak is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Scott.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Scott throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Zak is rocked!
Scott swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Zak is still on wobbly legs! Can Scott finish him?

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Scott shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Zak eats them both and turns towards Scott to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Zak seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Scott shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Zak is backing up but Scott catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Zak covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Scott Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:09 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Scott!
