Maia comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Numb/Encore kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be a great matchup!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shimit misses with a hook. Maia ducked under it nicely.
Shimit looks to land a right hand but Maia moved out of range.

Maia throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Shimit throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Shimit ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Maia moves away.

Shimit swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Shimit really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Maia passes Shimit's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Maia is pressing down on Shimit's thigh, looking to free his foot. Shimit is holding on for now.
Maia passes the guard and advances to mount!
Maia moves to back control.

Maia is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Shimit is tapping out! This one is all over!
