PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between King Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tj Hooke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Tj Hooke was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooke blocks the body kick.
Jones throws out a loose jab but Hooke uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jones looks to land a right hand but Hooke moved out of range.
Jones misses with a wild combination.
Hooke throws a big shot that misses.
No joy there for Hooke, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jones misses with a hook. Hooke ducked under it nicely.
Hooke displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones throws out the jab.
Jones rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hooke cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jones cracks Hooke with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Jones lands with a cross.
Jones misses with a hook
enabling Hooke to counter with a crisp jab.
Hooke misses with a few strikes there.
A nice leg kick lands there from Jones.
Hooke jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Jones is rocked!

Jones closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hooke quickly recovers to half guard.
Jones stops Hooke from getting back to his feet.
Jones seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jones looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hooke with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hooke really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jones is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Hooke is hurt! He's hurt bad - Jones fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Hooke from any more punishment! Congratulations to Jones! Great finish!
