The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gatusso fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A telegraphed right hand from Alvarado misses the target.
Alvarado getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Alvarado misses with the combination.
A punch lands to the side of Gatusso 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Alvarado throws a right hand that misses
and Gatusso counters with a nice double leg into side control. Alvarado won't be happy with that.
Alvarado gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Gatusso takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Gatusso thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alvarado wants to get back to his feet.
Gatusso sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Alvarado taps out!
