Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Weichanthal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Freight Train!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Illya Tyunina and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Train misses with a combination
and Weichanthal counters with a nice low kick that buckles Train's knee momentarily.
Train throws a combination that misses
and Weichanthal finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Weichanthal shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Train takes one to the side of the head.


It looks like Freight Train has been cut.
Weichanthal tries to land a front kick but Train steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Weichanthal throws a series of punches but Train moves out of range.

and Weichanthal counters with a crisp one two that drops Train! Weichanthal thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Train to his feet! Train is in big trouble!

Train tries to circle away but Weichanthal has him pinned against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Weichanthal just misses with a elbow thrown towards Train's brow.

Weichanthal is looking to control Train's arms but Train gets an underhook and turns him. Now Weichanthal has his back to the cage.
Weichanthal has Train pressed against the cage, preventing Train from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Train's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Weichanthal tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Train paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Train throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Weichanthal connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Good leg kick by Weichanthal there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Weichanthal tries to close the distance and clinch up but Train swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Freight Train seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Train throws a left and a right that both miss
and Weichanthal counters with a nice body shot.
Train's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Weichanthal connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Train scrambles back to his feet.
Train takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

and Weichanthal counters by clinching up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Freight Train's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Weichanthal feints and then cracks Train's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Train down.

Train is fighting off a takedown attempt but Weichanthal is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Train to the mat. Train regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Weichanthal stands and steps away. Train gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
