PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Kidd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damien Shiltz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Kidd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Damien Shiltz!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kidd clinches.
Kidd throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Kidd throws an elbow but it's blocked.
A hook to the body from Shiltz.
Kidd has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Shiltz is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Kidd has Shiltz pressed against the cage, preventing Shiltz from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Kidd.
Shiltz drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kidd pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kidd shoots in looking for a takedown. Shiltz tries to sprawl out of it but Kidd keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shiltz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Kidd goes for a takedown in the clinch but Shiltz prevents it.

Shiltz wants to break free but Kidd has control.

Kidd pushes off an throws an elbow but Shiltz leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Shiltz is leaning against Kidd and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Kidd can't get the takedown.
Shiltz lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Shiltz wants to break free but Kidd has control.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Shiltz as Kidd tries to tie him up.

It looks like Adam Kidd has been cut.
Shiltz has Kidd pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kidd manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

The referee is keeping an eye on Shiltz - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Shiltz.
Horrible takedown by Shiltz or perhaps it was just good defense by Kidd which made him look bad.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Shiltz.

Shiltz moves into range and clinches up with Kidd.
Shiltz scores with a hook to the body.
Kidd tries to land knees in the clinch but Shiltz avoids the damage to the body.
Shiltz is trying to break free.

Kidd is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Shiltz is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Kidd is working for takedown but Shiltz is calmly controlling the position for now.

Shiltz is pulling down on Kidd's head. It's preventing any offense from Kidd, at least for the moment.

Shiltz doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Shiltz has Kidd pulled in close to control his posture.
Kidd postures up in Shiltz's guard and throws a big left but Shiltz blocks it.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

I would just about give that final round to Damien Shiltz.
I think Shiltz has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
