Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Fred Hettish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Paquiao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Manny Paquiao is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fred Hettish!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Manny Paquiao!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paquiao misses with the combination.
Paquiao swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Paquiao is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Paquiao throws a left and a right that both miss
and Paquiao takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Paquiao misses with a series of wild punches.
A head kick misses from Hettish.
Sloppy strikes from Paquiao. Those never looked like landing.
Paquiao throws a right and a left that Hettish avoids nicely.

Hettish scores with a takedown into Paquiao's guard.
Hettish is working Paquiao over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Paquiao not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hettish not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Hettish postures up and lands a big shot to Paquiao's brow.

Paquiao can't keep his opponent in guard - Hettish advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Hettish takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Hettish works his way into side control.
Hettish landing strikes.
An elbow from Hettish crashes against the mat.
Hettish content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
The strikes coming from Hettish are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Hettish decides to stand up, so the ref orders Paquiao to his feet.
Paquiao looks gassed!

Hettish shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Paquiao tries to hold on but Hettish postures up.

Hettish working for a submission but Paquiao is keeping him at bay.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hettish cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Hettish lands a heavy elbow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hettish breaks from Paquiao's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Hettish controlling the position easily from mount.
Hettish landing strikes from the mount.
Hettish scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Hettish takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hettish putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Hettish has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Paquiao's face.

Hettish has control of Paquiao's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Paquiao regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hettish working for a guillotine from mount but Paquiao is in no mood to give up.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hettish controlling his opponent.
Hettish cracks Paquiao with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Paquiao is squirming around, avoiding Hettish's attempts to control the action.
Hettish working away from the top, dropping strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fred Hettish dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Hettish fails with a takedown attempt.
A combination from Hettish does no damage.
Paquiao lands the left hand.
Paquiao falls off balance throwing a combination

and Hettish counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Paquiao's guard now.
Hettish seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Hettish throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Paquiao works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hettish advances to half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hettish connects with a nice short shot to Paquiao's temple.
Paquiao is refusing to be controlled, as Hettish sits in half guard.
Paquiao is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Paquiao wants to control but Hettish is keeping busy.
Paquiao has hold of Hettish's hands but Hettish slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Hettish postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Paquiao to stand up.
Hettish shoots in and drives through. Paquiao sprawls well.

Hettish darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hettish missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Paquiao can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hettish passes to side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hettish scores with a couple of short elbows.

Hettish has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Paquiao is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Hettish yanks on the arm and Paquiao is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Hettish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Fred Hettish!
