Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Evanildo Bechara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Samurai Jack!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Bechara throws a lazy right hand but Jack sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Bechara throws a leg kick but Jack moved away.
Jack misses with a few strikes there.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jack tests Bechara's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Jack scores with a jab. Bechara acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Jack misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jack lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


It looks like Evanildo Bechara has been cut.

That was a close round but I would say that Evanildo Bechara will probably get the nod.

Samurai Jack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jack tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Bechara manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Jack looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Bechara uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jack.
Jack might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Jack tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bechara paws at him with a jab and circles away.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

and Bechara takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Samurai Jack showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Bechara misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jack throws a right and a left that both miss.

and Bechara counters with a nice low kick that buckles Jack's knee momentarily.
Bechara throws out a leg kick but Jack moves out of range and Bechara only half commits.
Jack falls off balance throwing a combination
and Bechara counters with an outside leg kick.

Bechara lands with a thumping leg kick.
Evanildo Bechara is winning the standup battle so far.
Jack on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Bechara. Bechara obviously looking to wear him down.
Jack takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bechara moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Bechara pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bechara moves into range and connects with a jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Bechara counters with a good low kick that Jack was not able to check.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Bechara.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Bechara here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Bechara has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
