The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Salace sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Salace wants to get back to full guard.
Alvarez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Salace defends it well.
Alvarez trying to control the action but Salace is working from the bottom.
Salace knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alvarez on the ground.
Salace is in trouble now - Alvarez has advanced to mount!
Salace tries to lock up and control but Alvarez gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Salace wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
That's one minute gone in the round.
I really don't envy Salace right now.
