Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nate Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Storman Norman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nate Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Storman Norman!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Norman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Diaz looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Norman is looking to advance position but Diaz won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Norman looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Norman seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Norman is nestled in close to Diaz, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Norman takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Norman is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Diaz sees it coming and defends easily.

Norman is taking a breather. Diaz says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Diaz looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Norman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Norman with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Diaz wants to control but Norman is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Norman is pressing down on Diaz's thigh, looking to free his foot. Diaz is holding on for now.
Diaz is trying to control but can't.

It looks like Norman might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Diaz tries to hold on but Norman pushes him away.

Norman avoids the attempt from Diaz to control.

Norman wants to control the pace but Diaz is squirming around nicely.

Norman connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Diaz can't escape the position.
Norman sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Diaz takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
You can see the frustration on Diaz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Norman lands a few punches from side control.
Norman tries to advance to mount but Diaz denies him.
Diaz wants to control but Norman postures up.

Norman working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Diaz sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Diaz wants to control but Norman is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Norman working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Diaz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Norman is working away from the top position though.
Norman seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Norman winds up and cracks Diaz with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Diaz wants to control but Norman is keeping busy.
Norman works his way into full mount!
Norman avoids the attempt from Diaz to control.
Diaz is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Norman is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Norman is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Diaz can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Diaz tries to lock up and control but Norman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Norman cracks Diaz with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
