The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Russell Pearce and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Williams darts in and clinches Wylie up against the cage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Wylie drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Williams dives on top into guard.

Williams postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Wylie to stand up.

Williams stalling in the clinch but Wylie improves position.

Wylie jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Williams walks away with a smile on his face. Wylie gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Williams counters with a one-two to the body.
Wylie dives in and grabs Williams's left leg, looking for a takedown. Williams pushes down on Wylie's head and hops out.
Williams tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wylie swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The fight stays on the outside here - Williams looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

This has been an exciting period of action!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Wylie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wylie lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Williams is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Wylieis looking to pass into half guard but Williams pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Williams is in guard.

Wylie is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Williams has his hands clasped together but Wylie extends an breaks Williams's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Wylie.
