Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Holyfield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mauricio Rua!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holyfield tries to clinch but Rua moves out of range.

A punch lands to the side of Rua 's head but he takes it in his stride.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rua is defended easily by Holyfield.
Nice uppercut there from Holyfield.
Holyfield leaves Rua with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Holyfield misses with a hook. Rua ducked under it nicely.
Holyfield works Rua's body with a nice hook.
Holyfield throws a series of punches but Rua avoids them all with ease.
Holyfield connects with a body shot that sends Rua's belly button to the back.
Nice uppercut lands for Holyfield. That snapped Rua's head back.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Holyfield lands a left and a right that send Rua crashing to the mat, dazed. Holyfield thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Rua is rocked!
No luck for Rua with that takedown attempt.
Joe Holyfield has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mauricio Rua.
Rua looks gassed!
Holyfield connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Rua is still on wobbly legs! Can Holyfield finish him?
Nice body punch from Holyfield.
Rua seems to have recovered his senses.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A lazy left from Holyfield finds it's target.
Holyfield drops Rua with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Rua looks back up at him and smiles so Holyfield waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Rua is rocked!
Rua takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Rua is still on wobbly legs! Can Holyfield finish him?
Holyfield scores with a decent looking hook.
Rua on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Joe Holyfield seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Holyfield cracks Rua on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Rua falls backwards against the cage. Holyfield follows up with more strikes that drop Rua to his knees. Holyfield keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Rua! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Holyfield!
