Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Bede (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenji Okabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lucas Bede!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenji Okabe!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okabe swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Bede counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Okabe tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bede sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Okabe somewhat.
Okabe misses with a jab to the body
and Bede counters with a three punch combo that has Okabe backing up. Okabe nods at Bede to acknowledge the strikes.
Bede lands with a kick to the temple. Okabe shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Okabe misses with a lunging right hand
and Bede counters with a nice low kick that buckles Okabe's knee momentarily.
Okabe gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Bede counters with a two punch combo.
Bede lands with an overhand left.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Okabe misses with a body shot.
Okabe lands the left hand.
Okabe shoots and misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Lucas Bede has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenji Okabe.
Bede thows a body shot but no joy.
Bede throws a series of punches but Okabe avoids them all with ease.
Bede throws a leg kick that is checked
and Okabe counters with a left to the body.
Bede scores with a jab to the body.
No joy there for Bede, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Bede throws a combination that misses

and Okabe counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bede won't be happy with that.
Okabe wants to control but Bede is keeping him busy.
Bede regains half guard.
Okabe frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Bede tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Okabe raining down shots from the mount!
Okabe dominating with strikes here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bede is looking to improve his position but Okabe isn't that keen on the idea.
Okabe breaks from Bede's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Okabe scoring with strikes but Bede is staying in there.
Okabe landing strikes, looking to finish!

Okabe is landing with some decent strikes but Bede is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Bede can't escape the position.
Okabe wants to control the pace but Bede is squirming around nicely.
Okabe lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Bede wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Bede takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bede regains half guard.
Okabe trying to control the action but Bede is working from the bottom.
Okabe prevents Bede from standing back up.

Okabe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bede blocking the ground and pound attempt from Okabe.
Okabe throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Okabe fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bede to the ground. Okabe is now in Bede's guard.
Bede wants to sweep but no luck.
Okabe wants to control from the top but Bede keeps moving.
Okabe stops Bede from standing up.
Okabe is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Bede is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Bede can't keep his opponent in guard - Okabe advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Bede is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kenji Okabe has got the better of the ground game so far.

Okabe working over Bede with some ground and pound. Bede looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Okabe is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Bede is refusing to be controlled, as Okabe sits in half guard.
Bede is trying to stand up here but Okabe is controlling him well.
Okabe passes the guard and advances to mount!
Okabe scoring with strikes but Bede is staying in there.
Bede is looking to improve his position but Okabe isn't that keen on the idea.

Bede is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Bede regains half guard.
Bede is not content to let Okabe control the position.
Okabe thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Okabe seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bede does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Okabe is working for a submission of some sort.
Bede moves into full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bede keeping moving, preventing Okabe from controlling successfully.
Bede wants to stand and escape but Okabe is having none of it.
Bede wants to improve his position but instead Okabe has moved into half guard.
Bede tries to roll over but Okabe keeps him under control.
Okabe working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Okabe trying to control the action but Bede is working from the bottom.
Bede tries to roll over but Okabe keeps him under control.
Bede wants to get back to his feet.

Okabe drops an elbow to the side of Bede's head.

Kenji Okabe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Okabe throws an off balance right hand
letting Bede counter with a right hand.
A chopping leg kick lands by Bede.
Okabe blocks a head kick by Bede.
Okabe misses with an uppercut
and Bede counters with a straight right hand.
Okabe looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Okabe misses with an uppercut
and Bede counters with a low kick, right behind Okabe 's knee.
Okabe wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Okabe shoots in looking for a takedown but Bede manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Okabe's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Bede throws a head kick that Okabe semi-blocks.
A looping hook to the body misses from Okabe. Bede does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bede throws a sloppy head kick and Okabe moves out of range easily.
Okabe throws a lazy uppercut
and Bede counters with a head kick.
Okabe doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bede makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Okabe really felt that one!
Lucas Bede has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kenji Okabe is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Lucas Bede has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenji Okabe.

Bede lands a head kick. Okabe smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Bede connects with a high kick.
Bede lands the left hand.
Okabe tries for a takedown but Bede circles away easily

and Bede counters by moving into the clinch.
Bede working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Bede connects with a knee to the head.

Nice body punch from Bede - that landed with a thud.
A nice left hand lands by Bede.

Okabe blocks the elbow strike.

Bede pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bede tries to close the distance and clinch up but Okabe swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Okabe throws a lazy uppercut

and Bede holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Okabe avoiding damage as Bede throws knees to the body.
Okabe blocks a body shot from Bede.
Okabe is trying to break the clinch but Bede is controlling him.
Bede has Okabe pressed against the cage.
Bede lands an elbow that stopped Okabe in his tracks for a moment.
Bede throws a knee to the head but misses.
A body shot lands from Bede.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Bede.
Bede pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Bede is pushing Okabe up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Bede's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Okabe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bede's waist but Bede gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Okabe off to one side.
Okabe jabs at Bede's body.
Bede uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Okabe.
Okabe tries for a takedown but Bede circles away easily
and Bede counters with a good, hard body kick but Okabe shrugs it off.
Lucas Bede is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Okabe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bede's waist but Bede gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Okabe off to one side.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lucas Bede showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Okabe has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
