Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joao Carlos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseilito Marreta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Carlos might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Nego drama. The crowd seem to be enjoying Marreta's choice of entrance music: Sabao Cra Cra. Joao Carlos has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joao Carlos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joseilito Marreta!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marreta fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Carlos checks it well.
Marreta throws a nice looking combination but Carlos bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Carlos shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Marreta sprawls well. Marreta wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Carlos gets slowly back to his feet.
Carlos displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Marreta throws out the jab.
Marreta scores with a body shot.
Carlos shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Marreta counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Carlos pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Marreta throws a nice looking combination but Carlos bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Carlos moves away from the strike by Marreta.
Carlos misses with a right hand
and Carlos takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Carlos shoots in for a takedown but Marreta shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joao Carlos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Carlos tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Marreta moves into the clinch.
Marreta pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Carlos walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
It looks like Joao Carlos has been cut.
Joseilito Marreta is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Carlos tries to clinch but Marreta is having none of it.
Carlos throws a sloppy head kick and Marreta moves out of range easily.
Marreta fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Marreta throws a right and a left that Carlos avoids nicely.
Good standup being displayed there by Marreta as he connects with a hook.
Carlos fails with a takedown attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Carlos.
Carlos showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Marreta.
Carlos shoots for a double leg takedown but Marreta sprawls well. He's pushed Carlos's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Marreta makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Carlos is breathing heavily.
Carlos has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Marreta finds it's way round the side to connect with Carlos's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Marreta throws a right and a left that both miss.
Marreta connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Carlos tumbling to the canvas! Marreta pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Carlos was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Joseilito Marreta!
