Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roger Rampage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Augusto Borges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roger Rampage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Augusto Borges!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rampage fails with a takedown attempt.
Rampage avoids the body shot from Borges.
Borges uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Borges looks to clinch

and Rampage counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Borges's guard now.

Rampage is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Borges is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Borges has escaped and now he's on top!

Rampage has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Borges can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Borges really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rampage. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Borges must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Rampage has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Borges can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rampage is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Rampage lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Borges!

Rampage goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Borges is on top in guard.

Borges avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Rampage doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Borges counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Borges tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rampage manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

A looping hook to the body misses from Borges. Rampage does a little dance to reset his feet.

Borges tries to close the distance and clinch but Rampage swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Borges moves in looking to clinch but Rampage pushes him off.
Rampage shoots in for a takedown but Borges shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Borges clinches up with Rampage and pushes him back against the cage.

Rampage has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Borges avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Borges's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Horrible takedown by Rampage or perhaps it was just good defense by Borges which made him look bad.
Borges tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rampage paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Rampage has Borges pressed against the cage, preventing Borges from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

and Rampage decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Borges's guard.

Rampage has gone for a leg lock! Borges slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rampage's guard.

Borges got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rampage has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Borges has managed to get both his arms back between Rampage's legs - danger averted.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Augusto Borges showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Roger Rampage's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Rampage shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Borges manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Rampage drops back, looking for a kneebar! Borges looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Borges looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Borges!

Borges wants to stand but Rampage has his arm trapped.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rampage looking for a sweep but Borges has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Rampage is desperately trying to improve his position but Borges has a good base and remains in mount.
Borges tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
Rampage tries to reverse the position but Borges maintains control.

Rampage tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

I think Borges has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
