PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between jack murl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Ron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). murl's entrance music is Can't be touched. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, jack murl!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ronnie Ron!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

murl closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
murl throws an elbow that misses.
Ron wants a takedown but no success here.
murl misses with an elbow over the top.
murl is trying to maintain a safe position but Ron gets an underhook and turns murl into the cage.
Ron on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
murl trying to land knees to the body.
murl stalling against the cage.
murl missing with knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
With the fighters up against the cage, murl throws an elbow but misses.
Knees in the clinch landing for murl.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by jack murl.
Ron throws a head kick that misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
murl tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Ron feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

murl pushes Ron off and gets back to his feet.
Ron shoots in but murl avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ron needs to keep his hands up - murl had a free shot at his head there.


Ron is rocked!

Ron closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ron lands in his opponent's guard.
Ron in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Ron stops murl from standing up.
Ron has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Ron slips nicely into half guard.
Ron throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Ron throws a strike but murl avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ron keeps the fight on the outside.
murl throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A good leg kick by murl.
Ronnie Ron seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ron misses with a takedown attempt - murl sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
jack murl has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ronnie Ron.
murl connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
murl cracks Ron with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Ron walks into a straight right hand from murl.
Ron shoots in and drives through. murl sprawls well.

murl clinches with his opponent.
murl pushes off an throws an elbow but Ron leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Ron pulls guard successfully.
murl won't allow Ron to sweep him here.
murl has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Ron throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Ron keeping busy on the bottom but murl has passed one foot through into half guard.
Ron is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Ron actively working from the bottom here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

murl tries to stand but can't do so whilst Ron controls his leg.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Nice defenses there by Ron.
Ron has a takedown stuffed.
murl lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Ron throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
murl misses with the combination.

and murl counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Ron looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for murl!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
murl is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that jack murl will probably get the nod.
That's time! murl's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by murl.
Ron walks forward, straight into a front kick from murl.
Ron walks into a jab.
Ron is still on wobbly legs! Can murl finish him?
Ron shoots and misses
and murl counters with a monster hook and another for good measure! Ron falls to the ground, out cold! Stick some heavy metal music over the top of that clip and it's one for the highlight makers!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). jack murl!
