The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcarthy moves out of range of the leg kick from Lannister.
Lannister looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Lannister throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mcarthy's waist but Mcarthy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lannister off to one side.
Mcarthy stalks Lannister and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Lannister's face. Lannister staggers backwards, shaken.
Lannister bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Nice takedown defense from Mcarthy. No joy for Lannister on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyrion Lannister. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lannister slips a jab and a cross from Mcarthy.

Mcarthy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lannister is looking for a sweep. Mcarthy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Lannister wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Lannister has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Mcarthy tries to free his leg and advance position but Lannister is retaining full guard.
Lannister thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tyrion Lannister wasn't doing enough on the ground.
A big left from Mcarthy misses.
Mcarthy scores with a crisp jab that stopped Lannister in his tracks.
Lannister pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Mcarthy scores with a jab. Lannister acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Mcarthy looks to land a left hand but Lannister moved out of range nicely.

Lannister takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

and Mcarthy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Nice body punch from Mcarthy.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mcarthy is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jens Mcarthy.

Lannister shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mcarthy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Lannister throws a big right hand that misses.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Mcarthy shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Lannister eats them both and turns towards Mcarthy to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Tyrion Lannister has been cut.

Mcarthy scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Lannister on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lannister tries to get out of the position.

Lannister is looking to improve his position.
Lannister wants to control but Mcarthy is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Lannister makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lannister.

Lannister looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lannister trying to keep a closed guard but Mcarthy is proving a slippery customer.
Lannister is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lannister is pulling down on Mcarthy's head. It's preventing any offense from Mcarthy, at least for the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Lannister lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mcarthy!

Poor strikes thrown by Lannister there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Lannister throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Mcarthy because Lannister loaded up on that one.

Lannister has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lannister lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Lannister lands with some strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mcarthy takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Lannister's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
