Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Sela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pepper Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sela comes to the cage accompanied by Black Attack - Heartless. Pepper Jackson acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fernando Sela!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pepper Jackson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson throws a lazy head kick
and Sela cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A head kick misses from Sela.
Jackson misses with a takedown
and Sela counters with a big head kick but Jackson shrugs it off.
Jackson throws a head kick but Sela moves out of range.

Jackson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Jackson working the ground and pound.
Jackson fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Jackson stands up and we're back to a striking position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A jab lands there for Sela.


It looks like Pepper Jackson has been cut.
Jackson shoots in looking for a takedown but Sela manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jackson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Sela blocks a head kick by Jackson.
Jackson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Sela counters with a left and a right that stings Jackson.
Fernando Sela has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pepper Jackson.
Jackson takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Jackson feints a jab promting Sela to slip. Jackson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Sela slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Jackson dives in and grabs Sela's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sela pushes down on Jackson's head and hops out.
Jackson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sela's waist but Sela gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jackson off to one side.

Sela shoots in and gets a takedown into Jackson's guard.
Sela is breathing heavily.
Jackson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Sela wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sela has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Sela wants to get up but he can't break Jackson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Jackson pulls Sela in to control the position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Fernando Sela.

Jackson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jackson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Fernando Sela will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Pepper Jackson's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Sela swats away the attempt to clinch by Jackson.
Jackson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sela.
Jackson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Sela shoots in and bounces Jackson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Jackson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sela!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sela knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jackson on the ground.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Sela avoids a series of strikes thrown by Jackson.
Jackson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Sela can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Sela wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Jackson.

Pepper Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Jackson throws a chopping leg kick but Sela manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Jackson circles away from the clinch attempt

and Jackson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sela won't be happy with that.
Sela is letting Jackson control him for a moment.
Jackson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Jackson stands up and beckons Sela to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Jackson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sela tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jackson is in Sela's guard.

Jackson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Sela leaves Jackson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jackson tries a head kick but it misses.
Fernando Sela seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jackson tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Sela counters with a right hand to the body.
Sela keeps the fight on the outside.
Jackson shoots in for a double leg but Sela sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Sela tries to clinch up.
Sela stuffs the takedown.
Fernando Sela has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pepper Jackson.
No luck for Jackson with that takedown attempt.
Sela fails to land with a series of punches.
Jackson tries to clinch but Sela is having none of it.
Jackson looks to land a left hand but Sela moved out of range nicely.
Jackson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Jackson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sela is just riding it out for now. Jackson eventually gives up the hold.
Pepper Jackson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jackson moves into full mount! Sela won't be happy about that!

And that's the end of the fight!
Pepper Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Jackson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
