Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andrew Wiggin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Schutte!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schutte fails with a takedown attempt.

and Wiggin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


It looks like Mike Schutte has been cut.
Schutte fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Andrew Wiggin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Schutte.
Wiggin throws a head kick that misses
and Schutte counters with a low kick, right behind Wiggin 's knee.
Wiggin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

so Schutte counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wiggin keeping moving, preventing Schutte from controlling successfully.
Schutte wanted to stand there but Wiggin had control of the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wiggin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Schutte defends it easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Schutte is fighting to break Wiggin's control of his arms but Wiggin is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Schutte wants to stand and escape but instead Wiggin has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Wiggin lands a couple of digs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Schutte throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Schutte is trying to control the position but Wiggin postures up.
Wiggin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Schutte is proving hard to escape from.
Schutte is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Wiggin postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Wiggin stands up from Schutte's guard - Wiggin perhaps looking for a knockout.

Wiggin throws a head kick that misses.
Wiggin slaps away a takedown attempt from Schutte, before circling back to the center of the mat.

and Schutte counters with a single leg into guard. Wiggin didn't expect that.
Schutte must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Schutte tries to free his leg and advance position but Wiggin is retaining full guard.
Wiggin is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Wiggin has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Schutte off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Wiggin throws a head kick that misses.

Schutte decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wiggin wants to get back to his feet.

Schutte is stalling here. Wiggin is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Schutte seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Wiggin has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Schutte throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

Wiggin decides to stand back up. Wiggin steps back and let's Schutte get back to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Schutte.

Wiggin closes the distance and pushes Schutte back into the cage.
Schutte wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Wiggin has him pressed against the cage.

Wiggin breaks the clinch.
Wiggin throws a head kick that misses.
A head kick misses from Wiggin.
A nice leg kick lands there from Wiggin.
Schutte misses with a kick to the body.
Schutte looks for a takedown but Wiggin sprawls well.
Wiggin explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Schutte looks gassed!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wiggin throws a head kick that misses.
Wiggin lands with a thumping leg kick.
Schutte takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wiggin scores with a head kick. Schutte tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Wiggin misses with a head kick.
Wiggin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Schutte tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Wiggin lands with a slapping head kick.
Wiggin circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Schutte drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Wiggin follows Schutte to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
