Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Geoff Deal!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Igor Prikhodko and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams tries to clinch but Deal is having none of it.
George Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams takes a swing at Deal's ribcage but misses.
Williams fails to land the takedown.

Deal gets caught flat footed, as Williams shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Deal managing to control the position.
Williams wants to pass the guard but Deal is keeping the position.

Williams has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Deal is working away from the top position though.
Deal uses his free foot to push down on Williams's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Williams.

Williams tries to lock up and control but Deal gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Deal tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Williams smiles and moves away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Deal finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Williams seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Deal for as long as he can get away with.

Williams throws a strike but Deal rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Williams working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Deal doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Deal manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Deal gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Williams stalks Deal and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Deal's face. Deal staggers backwards, shaken.
Deal lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Williams shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Williams was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Deal manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Williams tries to pass the half guard into mount. Deal knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Deal is looking to escape.

Williams is trying to work for a kimura but Deal is defending well.

Deal trying to control but Williams postures up.
Williams wants to take a breather but Deal is having none of it.
Deal lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.
Deal is doing well to control the position and prevent Williams from advancing to side control.
Deal wants to control but Williams is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Deal turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Deal manages to end up in side control.

Geoff Deal showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Williams has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Deal is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Williams.
Williams knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Deal on the ground.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Well Deal has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
