The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
van der Burgt bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Aeres looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
van der Burgt not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
van der Burgt preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Aeres with a nice head shot there.
Aeres throws a big right hand that misses.
Aeres throws a strike but van der Burgt rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

van der Burgt is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

van der Burgt postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Aeres is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of van der Burgt, into his guard.
van der Burgt trying to keep a closed guard but Aeres is proving a slippery customer.

van der Burgt has his hands on Aeres 's head, controlling the position.

Aeres is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but van der Burgt has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Aeres is looking to defend but van der Burgt has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Aeres ! van der Burgt pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Aeres taps out and this one is all over!
