Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Repe Sorsa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Naoto Sugawara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Repe Sorsa could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Naoto Sugawara's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sugawara connects with the punch.
Sugawara slaps away a takedown attempt from Sorsa, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Sorsa has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Sorsa there as he acknowledges the shot.

Sorsa shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sugawara napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Sugawara gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Sorsa is in the full mount, landing strikes.

It looks like Naoto Sugawara has been cut.
Poor strikes thrown by Sorsa there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Sorsa is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sugawara is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sugawara will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Sugawara avoids the head kick by Sorsa.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Sorsa misses the shot to the body.

The fight stays on the outside here - Sugawara looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Naoto Sugawara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sugawara throws a shot from downtown. Sorsa moves away and avoids it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Sorsa walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Sorsa takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Sugawara throws a hook but Sorsa blocks it.

Sorsa fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Sugawara.

Sorsa looks to land a right hand but Sugawara moved out of range.
Sorsa throws a predictable looking body shot
and Sugawara counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Sugawara avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Sugawara just misses with a punch to the body.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Naoto Sugawara showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sorsa seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sugawara does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
