The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riley fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sanders sprawls well initially but Riley persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Riley is working for a kimura but Sanders is defending it quite comfortably.
Sanders is refusing to be controlled, as Riley sits in half guard.
Riley wants to pass to mount but Sanders is defending the position.
Sanders looking for submissions off his back.
Riley trying to mount his opponent but Sanders defends it.
Riley passes to full mount!
Sanders is trying to escape the mount.

Sanders tries to improve his position but instead Riley has taken his back!
Sanders is trying to stand back up.

and Riley counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

and Riley counters with a solid body kick.
Sanders looks gassed!
Riley shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sanders is trying to defend but Riley finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Riley in particular looking to stall.
Sanders is not content to let Riley control the position.
