Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Billy Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Braden Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Braden Rush!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rush shoots in for a takedown but Slater shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Rush shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rush has his takedown stuffed
and Slater cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Billy Slater has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Braden Rush.
Slater connects with a crisp jab.
Rush throws a left and a right that both miss
and Slater counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Rush looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Slater wants to sweep here but Rush controlling him for the moment.

Slater working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rush doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rush manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rush is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Rush passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Rush is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Slater's shoulder. That is not cool.
Slater is looking to reverse the position.
Rush scores with a couple of short elbows.

Rush tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Slater tries to improve position but can't.
Rush is looking to take a break and control but Slater is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Slater is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Rush controlling the pace.
Slater wants to improve his position but Rush is controlling well.
Rush thows a huge punch but Slater dodges it nicely.
Slater works his way to full guard. Good work.

Slater looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Rush trying to control but Slater is working from the bottom.
Slater has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Rush has passed into side control.

Rush stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Slater takes a swing at Rush's ribcage but misses.
Nice uppercut there from Slater.
Billy Slater is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Rush counters with a single leg into guard. Slater didn't expect that.

Slater looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Rush pushing down on Slater's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Slater taking some punishment here, with Rush in his half guard.

Rush looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Rush throwing shots but Slater is blocking nicely.
Slater wants to improve his position but Rush is controlling well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rush connects with a nice short shot to Slater's temple.

Slater looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Slater trying to control but Rush postures up.
Slater is not content to let Rush control the position.
Slater tries to roll over but Rush keeps him under control.
Slater is working hard here to advance position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Braden Rush dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Slater slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Slater dips to his left and cracks Rush with an uppercut!

Slater gets caught flat footed, as Rush shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Rush decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Slater, up you get!
Billy Slater seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Slater scores with a nice right hand.
Rush misses with a takedown
and Rush takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Rush gets a takedown into half guard.

Slater is defending against the submission attempts here by Rush.
Rush working the head and body with strikes.

Slater moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Slater utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Slater is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Slater keeping moving, preventing Rush from controlling successfully.

Slater looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Rush is defending well. Slater quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Rush has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Slater celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
