Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Roman Emelianov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vlad Vovkov!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Illya Tyunina and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Vovkov.
Emelianov wants to get back to his feet but Vovkov drags him back down.

Vovkov thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Vovkov swings around for an armbar but Emelianov sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Vovkov's guard.
Emelianov trying to control but Vovkov is working from the bottom.
Emelianov has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Vovkov is proving hard to escape from.

Emelianov using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Vovkov has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Emelianov works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

We're going to have a standup here because Roman Emelianov wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Vovkov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Emelianov counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Vovkov is lucky that one didn't land flush.

That was a close round but I would say that Roman Emelianov will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Come on Emelianov - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Emelianov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Vovkov feints and as Emelianov raises his hands in defense, Vovkov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Emelianov wants to get back to his feet but Vovkov is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Vovkov drops back looking for a leg! Emelianov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Emelianov manages to kick Vovkov off! Vovkov jumps back into Emelianov's guard.
Vovkov prevents Emelianov from getting back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roman Emelianov dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Vovkov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Emelianov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Vovkov is trying to get an arm triangle but Emelianov is defending well.

Vovkov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Emelianov, who protects the arm well.

Vovkov goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Emelianov rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Vovkov's guard! Nice work there by Emelianov!
Emelianov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vovkov on the ground.
Emelianov is looking to stand up but Vovkov won't let him.
Emelianov chips away with some ground and pound.

Emelianov would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Vovkov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
