Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Maximo Drago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mishiro Shashimi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drago walks forward, straight into a front kick from Shashimi.

and Drago counters with a head kick that drops Shashimi to the mat! Shashimi scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Shashimi seems to have recovered his senses.
Shashimi shoots in for a takedown but Drago shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Maximo Drago seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shashimi walks into a jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Shashimi.
Maximo Drago has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mishiro Shashimi.

enabling Shashimi to counter with a crisp jab.

and Shashimi counters with a nice double leg into side control. Drago won't be happy with that.
Shashimi is trying to move to mount but Drago reverses beautifully and ends up in Shashimi's guard.
Drago knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shashimi on the ground.

Drago throws a shot from downtown. Shashimi moves away and avoids it.
Drago throws a sloppy head kick and Shashimi moves out of range easily.
Drago ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shashimi moves away.
Shashimi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mishiro Shashimi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Drago lands a glancing blow to the side of Shashimi's head.
Drago lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Drago lands with a nice body punch.
Drago lands with a hook. Shashimi tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

It looks like Mishiro Shashimi has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shashimi walks straight into a right hand from Drago - that's dropped him! Drago jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Shashimi from any more punishment! Shashimi complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
