The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with a wild body shot.
Bowron tries to clinch there but Silva circles away.
Bowron connects with a right hand. Silva shakes it off.
Silva slips under a jab from Bowron.
Silva throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Bowron counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Bowron lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Bowron controls from within his opponent's guard.
It looks like Bowron might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ross Bowron.
Silva misses with a double jab
and Bowron counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Bowron throws a series of punches but Silva moves out of range.
Silva throws a combination that misses
and Bowron counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Silva throws a left and a right that both miss
and Bowron counters with a straight right hand.
Bowron is trying hard to land a takedown here. Silva sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Silva throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Bowron counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Bowron lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Silva backs up against the cage.

Silva lands with a nice body punch.

Bowron fails to land with a series of punches.

Bowron tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range.

Bowron closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Bowron drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Silva gets the underhooks and prevents it.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Silva wants to get back to striking at distance but Bowron won't allow it.
Bowron throws a knee to the head but misses.

Silva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Silva throws a right hand that Bowron ducks under and follows up with a left that Bowron also avoids with ease.
Bowron misses with a straight left.
Silva misses with a double jab

and Bowron counters with a single leg into guard. Silva didn't expect that.

Bowron is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Bowron wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Bowron engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ross Bowron.
Bowron scores with a head kick. Silva tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Silva tries to sprawl but Bowron drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Bowron wants to take a breather but Silva is having none of it.

Silva is defending against the submission attempts here by Bowron.

Bowron is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ross Bowron dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Bowron swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

letting Silva counter with a right hand.
Bowron throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Silva sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Jake Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Silva. Bowron does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Bowron counters by moving into the clinch.
Bowron is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Bowron is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Silva pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Jake Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ross Bowron.
Bowron has Silva pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Silva manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Silva misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Bowron.
Bowron has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Silva is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Bowron drops down looking for an ankle pick but Silva pulls his leg out and moves away.
Jake Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Bowron counters with a series of strikes. Silva will be more careful next time no doubt.

Bowron might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Silva kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ross Bowron was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Ross Bowron showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

and Silva counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Bowron rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silva moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Bowron shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silva but Silva pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Bowron decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silva's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bowron wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Ross Bowron is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Bowron controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Ross Bowron has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Silva takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Bowron shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense.
Bowron shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silva pinned against the cage. Silva gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Silva throws a nice looking combination but Bowron bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Silva pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bowron will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Bowron counters with a nice leg kick.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jake Silva.
I think Bowron has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
