Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Heihachi Hayashida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Berry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Heihachi Hayashida!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Berry!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Hirohito Nitta and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berry stuffs the takedown.

Hayashida throws a leg kick but Berry sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Berry gets caught flat footed, as Hayashida shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Hayashida has gone for a leg lock! Berry slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hayashida's guard.
Hayashida has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Berry is looking to stand up but Hayashida won't let him.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Hayashida checks a leg kick.
Hayashida shoots in but no luck this time.
Hayashida misses with a takedown
and Hayashida takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Berry counters with a lovely straight right hand!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hayashida tries to clinch up but Berry circles away and keeps his distance.
Berry throws a front kick aimed at Hayashida's knee but Hayashida avoids it well.
Hayashida tries to land a front kick but Berry steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Hayashida misses with the body kick
and Berry counters with a straight right hand.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hayashida.

and Berry counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Hayashida throws a predictable looking body shot
and Berry connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Berry throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Berry lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Berry is looking to clinch but Hayashida is avoiding it.

Berry throws a right hand that Hayashida ducks under and follows up with a left that Hayashida also avoids with ease.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hayashida shoots in looking for a takedown but Berry manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hayashida's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Mark Berry showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
