The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercer throws a combination. Kaland tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Mercer wants to land a leg kick but Kaland is out of range.
Mercer scores with a jab. Kaland acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
No joy there for Mercer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Kaland scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Mercer is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

It looks like Tommy Mercer has been cut.
Kaland looks up at the clock and then as Mercer takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Kaland smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That has opened up Tommy Mercer's cut even more.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kaland postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Kaland scores with punches from side control.

Tommy Mercer's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tommy Mercer's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
