The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freeman tries for a takedown but Shishkin circles away easily
and Shishkin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Shishkin drives through and clinches with Freeman against the cage.

Freeman is fighting off a takedown attempt but Shishkin is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Freeman to the mat. Freeman regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shishkin is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Shishkin wants to control from the top but Freeman keeps moving.

Shishkin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Freeman swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Shishkin drops back, looking for a kneebar! Freeman looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Freeman looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Freeman!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Freeman is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Shishkin has managed to free his arm - good work.

Freeman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Shishkin throws out the jab.
Gordon Freeman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shishkin feints a jab promting Freeman to slip. Shishkin then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Freeman slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Shishkin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Horrible takedown by Freeman or perhaps it was just good defense by Shishkin which made him look bad.
