Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Igor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ecks Deidl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Igor Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ecks Deidl!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deidl with a lazy takedown attempt

A bone on bone clash there as Emelianenko blocks the leg kick.

Emelianenko closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Deidl did well to prevent Emelianenko getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Emelianenko cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Emelianenko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Emelianenko tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Emelianenko can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Deidl is looking to escape.

Emelianenko jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Deidl is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Deidl and Emelianenko has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Emelianenko works to advance to full mount. Deidl defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Deidl is looking to improve his position but Emelianenko isn't that keen on the idea.

Deidl is rocked!
Emelianenko postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Deidl in real trouble here! The ref calls for Deidl to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Igor Emelianenko!
