The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Almeida throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Sluggo takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Almeida throws an off balance right hand
and Sluggo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Almeida drops his hands momentarily and Sluggo takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Sluggo uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Almeida has time to react.
Sluggo throws a right and a left that Almeida avoids nicely.
The crowd cheers as Sluggo lands an impressive looking overhand right. Almeida doesn't seem phased though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Almeida is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Almeida throws a lazy right hand but Sluggo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Almeida is breathing heavily.
Sluggo drops his hands momentarily and Almeida takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Almeida looks to score with a jab to the body but Sluggo is just out of range.
Almeida takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Sluggo keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Almeida throws a hook to the side of Sluggo's head but Sluggo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Sluggo is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Almeida had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Almeida is aggressively charging in as Sluggo backs up avoiding any damage. Sluggo tosses out a jab and Almeida runs right into it face first! Almeida is out cold! Sluggo dropped down on all fours and is barking in Almeida's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
