Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Malenkai Vario!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brayden Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vario looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Vario not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Vario is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hunter is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hunter has escaped and now he's on top!
Vario has his hands on Hunter's head, controlling the position.
Hunter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Vario works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hunter must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Vario wants to sweep but no luck.
Vario lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hunter!

Hunter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vario. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Vario lands a big shot there that rocks Hunter but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Hunter is in all sorts of trouble here.
Vario has control of Hunter's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hunter regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Vario breaks from Hunter's wrist control and lands an elbow.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Vario goes for an armbar but Hunter turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Hunter.
Vario bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hunter's guard.
Hunter can't keep his opponent in guard - Vario advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vario prevents Hunter from improving his position.
Vario is trying to control the action in half guard but Hunter is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Vario working over Hunter with some ground and pound. Hunter looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Vario is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Hunter pushes Vario off looking to stand but Vario dives back in and keeps control.
Vario is trying to work for a kimura but Hunter is defending well.
Vario is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Vario slips a nice elbow through Hunter's hands, connecting with Hunter's forehead.
Vario is trying to control. Hunter wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Hunter has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vario is working away from the top position though.
Vario works his way into side control.

Vario thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Vario in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Hunter is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
