Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Zone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dureal Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zone comes to the cage accompanied by Pop The Trunk. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Zone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dureal Robinson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zone tries for a takedown but Robinson circles away easily
and Robinson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Zone tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Zone takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Zone throws a lazy head kick
and Robinson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Zone looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Zone with a poor takedown
and Robinson counters with a nice uppercut.
Zone fails with the takedown
and Robinson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Zone. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Robinson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Zone but Zone pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Robinson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Zone defends it nicely.

and Robinson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Zone's guard now.

Zone is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Robinson is stalling in the full guard.

Zone escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Robinson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Robinson gets to his feet - Zone follows without any prompting.
Robinson scores with a sloppy right hand. Zone should have avoided that one.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dureal Robinson was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Robinson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Zone as he avoids it easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Zone keeping moving, preventing Robinson from controlling successfully.

Zone tries to sprawl but Robinson drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Zone wants to control but Robinson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Robinson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Zone is pressing down on Robinson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Robinson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dureal Robinson wasn't active enough on the ground.
Zone shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Robinson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Robinson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Let's hope that Robinson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dureal Robinson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Robinson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zone tries to avoid it but Robinson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zone to the ground. Zone escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Zone pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Robinson back to the cage. Zone follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

and Robinson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Zone won't be happy with that.
Robinson content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Dureal Robinson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Zone struggling a bit here.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Robinson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Zone has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Robinson but great work by Zone.
Robinson regains half guard there - taking advantage of Zone's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Robinson manages to get to full guard.

Zone looking to sit in guard and control but Robinson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Dureal Robinson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Robinson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Zone looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Robinson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Robinson drops back looking for a leg! Zone is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Zone manages to kick Robinson off! Robinson jumps back into Zone's guard.

Robinson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Robinson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Zone wants to get back to his feet but Robinson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dureal Robinson.
Zone throws a good cross that connects.
Zone misses with a few strikes there.
Jimmy Zone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zone wants to clinch

and Robinson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Zone won't be happy with that.

You can see the frustration on Zone's face as Robinson controls the position.

Robinson is trying to get an arm triangle but Zone is defending well.

Robinson decides to stand back up. Robinson steps back and let's Zone get back to his feet.
Zone misses with a head kick.
Zone stuffs the takedown.

Robinson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Zone was covering up waiting for the punch and Robinson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Zone is looking for a triangle but Robinson pushes his legs off easily.

Zone escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Robinson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Robinson pushes down on Zone's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Zone is looking for a sweep. Robinson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Robinson is pressing down on Zone's thigh, looking to free his foot. Zone is holding on for now.
Zone has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Robinson is working away from the top position though.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dureal Robinson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Robinson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
