Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fou Freedomfighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Figaro Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Figaro Alves will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fou Freedomfighter!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Figaro Alves!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Alves as Freedomfighter shoots in.
Nice takedown defense from Alves. No joy for Freedomfighter on that attempt.
Freedomfighter fails in his attempt to clinch.

Alves shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Freedomfighter's guard.
Freedomfighter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Freedomfighter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Alves decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Freedomfighter, up you get!
Alves will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Freedomfighter is just content to waste time from the top position. Alves takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Horrible takedown by Alves or perhaps it was just good defense by Freedomfighter which made him look bad.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fou Freedomfighter. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alves drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Alves jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Alves is sitting in close to Freedomfighter's body. Freedomfighter has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Alves is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Alves is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Freedomfighter.
