Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jason Heyward!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kendall Mitch!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitch pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Mitch is working Heyward over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Heyward tries to clinch up but Mitch circles away and keeps his distance.
Kendall Mitch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mitch misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Mitch throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Mitch closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Heyward quickly recovers to half guard.
Mitch looks to land a strike but Heyward avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Heyward will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mitch would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mitch cracks Heyward with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mitch cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Kendall Mitch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Mitch stands and steps away. Heyward gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mitch looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Heyward with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Heyward gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mitch to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Heyward has his foot on Mitch's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mitch works his way back into a safe position though.

Kendall Mitch comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Mitch has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
