PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ginokai Kai Gi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jefferson Juniper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ginokai Kai Gi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jefferson Juniper!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kai Gi tries to clinch up
and Juniper counters with a low kick, right behind Kai Gi 's knee.
Juniper lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Juniper on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Kai Gi throws a sloppy head kick
and Juniper counters with an outside leg kick.
Juniper scores with a head kick.
Juniper lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Juniper changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Kai Gi is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kai Gi tries to clinch up
and Juniper counters with a good low kick that Kai Gi was not able to check.
Juniper throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kai Gi stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Kai Gi closes the distance but Juniper moves to the side
and Juniper counters with a nice low kick that buckles Kai Gi's knee momentarily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Juniper fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Juniper.
Kai Gi is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Juniper lands a big head kick that sends Kai Gi tumbling to the mat! Juniper takes a step backwards and waves Kai Gi back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Kai Gi is rocked!

It looks like Ginokai Kai Gi has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kai Gi stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Juniper.
Oh Kai Gi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Juniper connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Juniper cracks the inside of Kai Gi's front leg.
Juniper wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Kai Gi seems to have got his legs back now.
Juniper throws a nice inside leg kick.
Kai Gi takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Ginokai Kai Gi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Whack! Juniper lands a heavy head kick that drops Kai Gi. The ref tackles Juniper to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Kai Gi was done.
