PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Arjen Robben (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and PeeWee Herman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robben comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC - For Those About To Rock. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robben throws a predictable looking body shot
and Robben takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Herman drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Herman wants to control from the top but Robben keeps moving.

Herman drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Robben manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Herman has Robben in his guard.
Herman wants to improve his position but instead Robben has moved into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Herman wants to sweep but Robben has passed to side control!
Herman is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Herman gets back to half guard.

Herman looking for subs from the bottom but Robben mounts him!
Robben is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Robben trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Herman tries to lock up and control but Robben gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Herman keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Herman tries to hold on but Robben pushes him away.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Herman is looking to improve his position but Robben isn't that keen on the idea.
Herman sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Robben stands up and beckons Herman to join him on the feet.
Herman misses with a takedown
and Robben counters with a nice leg kick.
Herman looks gassed!
Robben scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

and Robben counters with a good low kick that Herman was not able to check.
PeeWee Herman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Robben lands with a kick to the temple. Herman shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

It looks like PeeWee Herman has been cut.

Robben lands with a nice body punch.
Herman takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Robben throws a shot to the body.
Good leg kick by Robben there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Robben scores with a head kick. Herman tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Herman has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Robben.
Herman has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Robben.
The fighters circle, before Robben throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Herman's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Robben lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
